MARSHALL, Texas – After leading 2-1 in doubles play, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team dominated the singles matches for a 7-2 victory over Schreiner University. ETBU stands at 4-5 overall in the aftermath of this win.

ETBU had to win a tiebreaker at #1 doubles when John Herr and Adam Morris defeated Luis Cabrera and Andrew Albright 8-7 (7-1) for the 2-1 lead.  Andrew Deutsch and Tyrese Sheffield picked up an 8-6 victory over Austin Cervantes and Casey Voss in #3 doubles.

The Tigers then picked up five points in singles matches. Herr would be the only Tiger to win his match in a tiebreaker at #2 singles by 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-3. Deutsch (No. 3; 6-0, 6-1) and Sheffield (No. 6; 6-3, 6-0) got their second wins of the day in their respected spots while Joseph Salinas won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. His doubles partner, Ty Tarver, would win number five 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3).

Tomorrow will have ETBU host a 9:00 AM match with Concordia University (TX) followed by an ASC East Division match vs. Louisiana College.
