MARSHALL, Texas – After picking up six wins on a long 10-game road trip, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team will have a three-match home stand this weekend. The Tigers will take on Schreiner University, Concordia University-Texas, and Louisiana College. All matches will be played pending weather.
ETBU went 2-1 last weekend as they took on Occidental College, St. Mary's College and Connecticut College. The Tigers picked up two wins on Sunday 8-1 over St. Mary's and 8-1 over OC.
Olivia Parmelly and
Kaleigh Smith won 8-3 at number two doubles and
Ashley Schenck and
Cassidy Wilcoxson won number three doubles, 8-5. ETBU then won singles matches at number one (
Elisa Kendall), number two (
Tess Willis), number three (
Tiffany Stankiewicz), number four (Kaliegh Smith), number five (
Mullika Seekhieo), and Parmelly at number six.
Against St. Marys, the Tigers swept doubles play winning, 8-6, as Parmelly/Smith (number one), Kendall/Stankiewicz (number two), 8-0, and Seekhieo/Willis (number three), 8-7, all won their matches. Kendall (number one), Willis (number two) Stankiewicz (number three), Smith (number four), and Parmelly (number 6) all won their matches in singles play. The Tigers fell 5-4 to CC on Monday moving them to 6-4 on the year.
Friday's match vs. Schreiner is set to start at 3:00 p.m. The first match on Saturday vs. Concordia-Texas starts at 9:00 a.m. while the second vs. Louisiana College is slated for 2:00 p.m.
