TYLER, Texas – Playing the University of Texas-Tyler for the final time, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team fell to the Patriots 8-1 on Friday. ETBU is 5-7 overall.
 
ETBU's lone point came at #3 doubles when the pair of Andrew Deutsch and Tyler Howard defeated Tony Parra and Ford Cunningham 9-8 in a tiebreaker. Joseph Salinas and Ty Tarver would fall at #2 doubles 8-6 against Daniel Rodriguez and Nicholas Currea.
 
In singles play, John Herr would battle Rodriguez to a tiebreaker at #2 singles before falling 4-6, 7-5, 10-4. Dalton Barron had a strong second set despite falling in two sets 6-0, 6-4 at #6 singles.
 
ETBU's next match will take place on Wednesday at 4:00 PM in Longview, Texas, against LeTourneau University.
