LONGVIEW, Texas – Traveling just 30 minutes as their shortest trip of the spring season for American Southwest Conference East Division play, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team fell, 8-1, to LeTourneau University. This puts ETBU at 5-8 overall and 1-1 in the ASC East.
LETU took all three doubles matches with the closest one at number two doubles.
Joseph Salinas and
Ty Tarver fell, 8-6, at number two doubles. Both
John Herr and
Adam Morris (#1) and
Andrew Deutsch and
Tyler Howard (#3) lost, 8-3.
Down 3-0 heading into singles play, ETBU took only one match at number three singles. Deutsch defeated Zac Crowley-Kurth, 7-6, 6-3, for the lone point. ETBU lost two tie breaking matches at #2 doubles as Herr fell, 3-6, 6-3, 2-6, and then Morris lost at #6 singles, 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6).
ETBU is now off until Friday, April 12
th, when they travel to Clarksville, Ark., to face the University of the Ozarks.
