MARSHALL, Texas – After picking up their fourth win of the season over Hardin-Simmons University last weekend, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team will face three more opponents on the their 10-match road trip which ends this weekend in Kerrville, Texas. ETBU will take on Occidental College and St. Mary's College of Indiana on Sunday and close with Connecticut College on Monday.
The Tigers opened up last weekend with a sweep in doubles play against HSU. The number one doubles team of
Elisa Kendall and
Tiffany Stankiewicz picked up an 8-2 win.
Olivia Parmelly and
Kaleigh Smith won in an 8-0 shutout in the number two spot, while
Mullika Seekhieo and
Tess Willis picked up and 8-5 victory in the number three doubles. ETBU won three singles matches as Kendall (#1) won 6-0, 6-1. Stankiewicz (#2) won 6-0, 6-4, while Smith (#3) picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
ETBU last played Schreiner in 2017 in Marshall and won, 9-0. Smith, Stankiewicz, Kendall, and Seekhieo all picked up wins for the Tigers.
Sunday's match vs. Occidental is set to start at 1:00 p.m. while the match vs. St. Mary's College starts at 6:00 p.m. Monday's match vs. Connecticut College is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
