LONGVIEW, Texas – Staying perfect in American Southwest Conference East Division play, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team came away with an 8-1 victory over LeTourneau University. ETBU is now 10-5 and 2-0 in the ASC East.
It was only a one-point match after doubles play as ETBU was up, 2-1. ETBU took the #2 and #3 doubles matches.
Tiffany Stankiewicz and
Elisa Kendall teamed up at #2 doubles for an 8-0 shutout win for the first point of the match.
Tess Willis and
Mullika Seekhieo then won the #3 doubles, 8-1, for the second point.
ETBU then took all six singles matches for the 8-1 victory. Kendall won at #1, 6-4, 6-4, followed by at 6-4, 6-4, win at #2 from Willis. Stankiewicz had a 6-3, 6-3, win at #3 singles while
Kaleigh Smith won 6-1, 6-1, at #4 singles. Seekhieo took a tiebreaker for the #5 singles win 2-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-2) and
Cassidy Wilcoxson finished off at #6 singles, 6-0, 6-2, for the eighth point.
ETBU is off until April 12
th, when they travel to Arkansas to face the University of the Ozarks.
