RICHARDSON, Texas – Advancing to the semi-final round of the American Southwest Conference for the third year in a row, the East Texas Baptist University women's tennis team shut out Concordia University-Texas, 5-0. ETBU is now 13-5 on the year.
ETBU started out with a 3-0 lead in doubles sweeping through the first three matches.
Kaleigh Smith and
Olivia Parmelly won at #1 doubles, 8-3, over Claire Austin and Leyla Martinez.
Ashley Schenck and
Tiffany Stankiewicz held off Alexis Popovich and Kaitlin Stevens, 8-5, at #2 doubles.
Elisa Kendall and
Mullika Seekhieo then won at #3 doubles, 8-3, over Genna Ellinwood and Camille Kempf for the 3-0 lead.
Stankiewicz made it 4-0 with a 6-2, 6-2, win at #3 singles over Claire Austin. Kendall then ended the match with a 6-0, 6-1, victory over Popovich at #1 singles.
ETBU will face Hardin-Simmons University at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning at the SMU Indoor Tennis Facility.
