Riley Broughton netted the golden goal in the 99
th minute for the first win of the year.

On the day, ETBU outshot the Mountaineers 17-7, which featured 15 shots on goal to three by SU.
Raegan Kappler had a team-high four shots with three on net while
Abigail Bath and
Amy Pineda collected two shots.
Kayla Nichols (three shots) and Broughton would each score a goal in the contest.
Maddie Rea saved two shots.

SU had seven shots all taken by Dani Loeblein, who scored the lone tally for the Mountaineers. Goalkeeper Maddie Saucedo made 13 saves.

In the first half, the Mountaineers had two shot opportunities in the first ten minutes of the contest. ETBU wouldn't get a shot off until the 13th minute. This would be the start of a nine-shot first half as they would put up two within two minutes of each other. SU would manage one more shot in the first half before ETBU's defense held firm to make the first half scoreless.

Having not scored in three periods into the season, the Tigers would score their first goal of the season when Nichols (50:20) found the net to give ETBU a lead, 1-0. ETBU had three chances to extend their margin to two with shots in the 62nd, 73rd, and 79th minutes. All three shots were saved by Saucedo. The Mountaineers would manage to get the equalizing goal in the 80th minute as Loeblein (79:15) made it 1-1. The best chance for either side to win it in regulation was in the 88th minute when ETBU's shot went wide.

Overtime came as SU would have an early chance to win in the 96th minute but Rea would come through with a save. Three minutes later, Broughton gave the Tigers the win.

ETBU will hit the road next Saturday with a contest against Southwestern University at 7:30 p.m. in Georgetown, Texas.
