MARSHALL, Texas – Outshooting their opposition 20-6 and controlling much of the possession, the East Texas Baptist University men's soccer team were unable to find the goal as they fell 2-0 to the Austin College Kangaroos on Friday night. ETBU is 1-1 now on the season.
Silas Sangano (two shots on goal) led the way with four shots while both
Max Ponticorvo and
Travis Floyd (one shot on goal) added three of their own.
Justin Groves was in net making one save. AC had two goals recorded by Cesar Escobar (11:26) and Ahmet Ramovic (86:57). Goalkeeper
Juan Rodriguez provided five saves in the game.
ETBU finished with six shots on goal to AC's three, and held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. In total, ETBU had seven shots in the first half and 13 in the second half.
The Tigers will look to bounce back on Sunday, September 8, at 3:00 PM as they will travel to Georgetown, Texas, to take on Southwestern.
