PREVIEW | @ETBU_MBSK Back at Home in ASC East Play

MARSHALL, Texas – Starting American Southwest Conference play with two wins on the road against the West Division, the East Texas Baptist University men's basketball team returns to Ornelas Gymnasium for the first of four straight home games. This weekend, ETBU welcomes the University of Texas Dallas and the University of Ozarks. ETBU is currently 9-2 and 2-0 in the ASC East and is receiving votes in the D3hoops.com National Poll.

  • 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the ASC East following wins over Hardin-Simmons University and McMurry University
  • Defeated Hardin-Simmons University 94-84 in overtime. Nathan Fontenot and Christopher Haynes compiled 20 points each while Robby Dooley recorded a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Landin Brown (15 points) and Jarrell Taylor (11 points) also had double-figures scoring
  • Defeated McMurry University 92-77. Colton Collins led with 22 points, including five three's. Haynes would finish with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds
  • Haynes was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week after averaging 19.0 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, and making 52% of his field goals
  • ETBU is third in the ASC in scoring at 85.5 ppg and allowing 74.2 ppg to opponents. The 11.3 margin of victory is the largest in the ASC
  • First in the ASC in field goal percentages (47.0%), free throw percentages (82.0%), and three-point percentages (38.8%)
  • Second in steals with 9.3 per game
  • Averaging 37.5 rpg and 15.1 assists per game
  • Dooley is 10th in the ASC averaging 16.7 ppg and second in steals with 2.5 per game
  • Haynes is third in the ASC with 61.2% made field goals and is averaging 6.3 rpg.
  • Landin Brown is third in the ASC with 4.7 apg and seventh in steals with 2.1 per game.

  • Rallied from 17 points down in the second half to win 92-85 in overtime against UO last season. Dooley finished with 33 points, including his 1000th career point.

  • Seventh in the ASC in blocked shots at 2.8 per game
  • Eighth in the ASC in steals at 7.8 per game
