MARSHALL, Texas – After opening their 2020 season with a 13-0 victory in Louisiana, the #13 East Texas Baptist University softball team will be home for two series this weekend. They have their home opener on Friday afternoon against Hardin-Simmons University and the host Pacific University on Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. ETBU is 1-0 on the year.

- 1-0 after a 13-0 shutout win over Centenary College in five innings.
- Beatriz Lara earned the complete game shutout win throwing a one-hitter while striking out eight batters. She also recorded three hits while driving in a RBI.
- Kaitlin Hunter posted three hits and two RBI while Hannah Garcia, Emily Deramus, India Holland, Ramzi Smith, Corley Carpenter, and Mariah Delgado recorded an RBI in the victory.
- ETBU has won nine of their last 10 meetings with HSU, including eight in a row from 2017-2019 which marked the second longest winning streak in the series (14; 2/4/11-4/22/16)
- Last defeated HSU, 5-0, in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Tournament. Lara threw a no-hitter allowing one walk while striking out 11 batters. Sabrina Salts (RBI) and Garcia (three RBI) recorded two hits in the contest.
- Unbeaten all time against PU in four meetings.
- Swept the Boxers last season 10-9 and 6-1.
- In the 10-9 win, both Solis and Delgado (two RBI) recorded three hits. Preslye Cox finished with the win with 4.1 innings allowing five runs on five hits with three strikeouts. Lara got the save in the circle with a scoreless inning and also homered.
- In the 6-1 win, Emily Deramus led with two hits offensively. Lara pitched a complete game allowing one run on three hits while striking out six.
HSU
- 2-0 after a doubleheader sweep of Schreiner University, 4-3 and 12-8.
- Kate Tovar is batting a team-leading .500, which includes a team-high four hits, including two doubles. This includes a three-hit performance in the second game of the double-header to SU.
- Peyton Newman drove in five RBI in the doubleheader, including three RBI in the 4-3 win in the first game.
- Haven Williams earned the win with 3.0 innings in relief allowing one hit in the 4-3 win over SU.
- Kaylen Washington earned the win in relief going 3.2 IP allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out four batters in HSU's 12-8 win over SU.
PU
- 1-3 overall after an 8-0 win over Warner Pacific in five innings.
- Swept by Oregon Tech to start the season.
- In the 8-0 win against WPU, Nicole Martinez led with two hits while Hailey Miller, Marcee Nakamura, Rylee Patton, and Haylie Uetake all recorded an RBI. Patton would also get the win in the circle with a one-hitter striking out four batters.
- Jill Uyeda leads with six hits in 12 at-bats (.500 batting average) while posting a .583 slugging percentage and a .538 on base percentage.
- Uyeda, Kate Macaitis-Smith and Nicole Martinez all have two stolen bases on the season.
- Montana Vaught leads PU in RBI with two.
