MARSHALL, Texas – Back home after starting 3-0 in the American Southwest Conference, the #4 East Texas Baptist University softball team will host Sul Ross State University for three games this weekend. ETBU is currently 7-0 and ranked fourth in the nation.

- 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the ASC after sweeping Howard Payne University by scores of 12-0 (5), 15-5 (5), and 1-0 (10).
- Beatriz Lara earned her second ASC East Division Pitcher of the Week award of the season by pitching 15 innings allowing no runs on five hits while striking out 17 batters. This is her seventh career ASC weekly honor.
- Daniella Solis was named the ASC East Division and NFCA National Hitter of the Week after she batted .600 (six-of-10) with two doubles, three home runs, and seven RBI. She drove in five RBI on three homers in Game 2's 15-5 win over HPU.
- Solis became the seventh player in ASC history to hit three homers in a game and the second ETBU player to achieve a feat since Lacey Lindsey (4/25/15).
- Have beaten SRSU 23 straight times since their first meeting back in 2014.
- Swept SRSU in three games last season by scores of 16-0, 11-4, and 5-3.
- Lara won both her starts with 12.0 IP allowing three runs on 10 hits while striking out six. She also batted .416 (five-of-12) with four RBI.
- Last year, Solis was named the Fastpitch News (FPN) NCAA DIII Hitter of the Week after she batted .727 (eight-of-11) with five RBI, a home run, and five runs scored.
- Lead the ASC in batting average (.371), on base percentage (.455), and opposing batting average (.217).
- Second in the ASC in earned run average (2.33) and batters struck out (44).
- Third in the ASC in slugging percentage (.510)
- Solis is in the ASC Top 10 in batting average (4th; .542), slugging percentage (1st; 1.250), on base percentage (6th; .560), RBI (T4th; nine), doubles (T1st; five), home runs (T1st; four), and total bases (T2nd; 30).
- Mariah Delgado is second in the ASC in eight walks while she and Kaitlin Hunter share the hit by pitch lead with four.
