PREVIEW | @ETBU_MBSK Heading to UO, UTD this Week

MARSHALL, Texas – Coming off a difficult week in the American Southwest Conference East Division, the East Texas Baptist University men's basketball team seeks to bounce back as take to the road facing the University of the Ozarks and the University of Texas Dallas. ETBU is now 15-4 and 8-2 in the East Division and is currently in a three-way tie for first place with LeTourneau University and UTD.

  • 15-4 overall and 8-2 in the ASC East following two losses to LETU

  • On Thursday, ETBU fell, 92-85, to LETU in Longview. Chris Haynes recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds and a career-high 27 points while Robby Dooley (24 points, nine points) was one rebound shy of a double-double
  • On Saturday, ETBU lost, 81-71, to LETU at home. Dooley (18 points, 15 rebounds), Haynes (16 points), Landin Brown (15 points), and Jordan Gray (11 points) all scored in double-figures
  • Defeated UO, 74-58, on Jan. 11. Required a 22-0 run in the second half to pull away. Dooley led ETBU with 23 points while Haynes tallied 19 points
  • Defeated UTD, 83-74, on Jan. 9. Haynes (13 points), Colton Collins (12 points), Dooley (12 points), Jarrell Taylor (11 points), and Nathan Fontenot (10 points) all tallied double-figures scoring
  • The win over UTD ended a seven-game losing streak to the Comets.
  • Second in the ASC in scoring (85.6 ppg) and three-point percentage (37.2%)
  • Third in the ASC in points allowed with 76.3 ppg.
  • Lead the ASC in free throw percentage (80.5 ppg) and field goal percentage (47.2%).
  • Dooley is in the top 10 in the ASC in ppg (8th; 17.1 ppg) and steals (4th; 2.3 per game)
  • Haynes is in the top 10 in the ASC in field goal percentage (4th; 59.5%), free throw percentage (3rd; 84.7%), and blocked shots (6th; 1.2 per game).

  • 6-13 overall and 2-8 in the ASC East following a 64-60 loss to UTD
  • In the 64-60 loss to UTD, Cordy Winston tallied 17 points while Zach Bobo (11 points), and Darnel Renelique (10 points) scored in double-figures

  • In the 64-60 win over UO, Kelden Pruitt (12 points), Kolton Pruitt (11 points), and Michael Forster (11 points) finished in double-figures each.
  • In the 83-74 loss to ETBU, Jalen Weber scored a game-high 27 points while Hans Burwitz (16 points, 12 rebounds), and Kelden Pruitt (15 points) scored in double-figures as well.
