MARSHALL, Texas – Set for the 2020 season, the East Texas Baptist University softball team will open up on the road against Centenary College. ETBU comes into the season ranked 13th in the preseason NFCA National Poll and is the reigning American Southwest Conference champions.

- Finished 39-6 overall and 26-1 in the American Southwest Conference
- Return 16 players from last season's team and welcome 12 new members
- Defending American Southwest Conference champions
- Defeated CC twice last season by scores of 4-1 and 5-0
- In the 4-1 win, Beatriz Lara went the distance allowing one run on two hits while striking out 12 batters in her first ever collegiate start. Sabrina Salts, Daniella Solis, and Mikaela Tellez each had two hits
- In the 5-0 win, Preslye Cox earned the win with five innings of relief allowing no runs on three hits while striking out 10 batters. Hannah Garcia led the offense with three hits, an RBI, and two runs scored
- Won the last eight meetings against Centenary
- Solis led ETBU in batting average (.387), hits (53), and doubles (10). She would be named All-ASC First Team
- Lara went 21-2 in the circle finishing with a 1.53 ERA and 173 strikeouts. She would be named NFCA All-American, ASC Pitcher and Freshman of the Year, All-ASC First Team, All-ASC Tournament Team and MVP

- Last defeated ETBU on Mar. 5, 2001 by the score of 9-3
- Kaitlyn Price was sixth on the Ladies with a .288 batting average
- Haley Campbell was fifth on the team with 29 hits and tied for third with Erin Lewis with 17 RBI
- Campbell earned the Southern Collegiate Athletic Coaches All-Second Team for her play last season
