#TIGERSWIN | VB | ETBU Sweeps Belhaven for ASC Win

MARSHALL, Texas – Finishing out their seven-match home stand with a sweep, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team blanked Belhaven University, 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-20), for their 10th win of the year. ETBU is now 10-9 and 7-6 in the American Southwest Conference.
 
Annie Harris recorded nine kills with an .818 hitting percentage while Avery Reid added eight kills and eight digs. Kayla Rainey had nine digs as Lillie Hill led with 10 digs. Kaylee Morton came away with 12 assists.
 
It was all ETBU in set one taking a 3-0 lead. After Belhaven scored a point, ETBU went on a7-0 run for a 10-1 lead as Alexis Mack had a kill in the run. Another ETBU run of 6-2 made it 16-3 as Rainey added a kill in the run. ETBU then went on to win set one, 25-10.
 
Set two was the same result as set one as ETBU dominated. ETBU went out to an 8-3 lead as Reid had the kill for the eighth point. ETBU went on a 6-1 run for a 14-4 lead as Rainey added a service ace. Belhaven pulled to within 15-10 only to see ETBU go up 21-10 with two service aces from Kaylee Morton. ETBU finished off set two with a 25-12 win for the 2-0 lead.
 
Belhaven gave ETBU all they could in set three as they went up 8-5. With a four-point lead, 12-8, Belhaven looked to be in control only to see ETBU go on a 5-0 run for a 13-12 lead. There were five ties from that point on. The set was tied at 17 when ETBU went on a 7-1 run for a 24-18 lead. Belhaven did score two more points but ETBU took the match, 25-20.
 
ETBU heads to West Texas this weekend to face Sul Ross State and Howard Payne in ASC play.
