BROWNWOOD, Texas – On a three-game win streak sweeping the week in American Southwest Conference play, the East Texas Baptist University volleyball team shut out Howard Payne University, 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-15). ETBU is now 12-9 and 9-6 in the ASC.

Jumping out to a 5-1 lead in set one, ETBU didn't look back in the 25-16 win. ETBU's five points came on kills from Reeve, Reid, and Harris. HPU pulled to within two, 7-5, but that is close as they would come in the set. ETBU went on an 8-0 run to make it 15-5. Reeve, Reid, and Alexis Mack all provided kills for ETBU. It was another 10-point lead for ETBU, 24-14, for their largest lead before winning by nine, 25-16.

HPU put together their best set of the match as they moved to a 5-0 lead. They extended it to 7-1 before ETBU went on a 5-1 run to pull within two, 8-6. HPU then went up by three, again, 11-8, but ETBU went on an 8-3 run to take the lead, 16-14, as Reid and Harris posted kills. Battling back, HPU answered with a 7-4 run and a 21-19 lead. They then tied the game at 22 but two Yellowjacket errors and a Reeve kill ended the set for an ETBU win, 25-22.

The third set started in favor of HPU as they took a 3-0 lead. ETBU fought back with a 8-3 run for the two-point lead, 8-6. Harris had a service ace while Reid posted two kills.
