#TIGERSWIN | WS | ETBU Secures First Back-to-Back Winning Seasons Since 2011-12

ALPINE, Texas –Scoring a goal in each half, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team shutout Sul Ross State University, 2-0, earning another American Southwest Conference win. ETBU is now 8-4-3 and 4-3-2 in the ASC. The win secures back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2011 and 2012.
 
Earning their eighth shutout of the year, Claire Montondon had five saves in the win facing seven shots overall. ETBU had 13 shots with eight on goal Sarah Ramos and Raegan Kappler each had two. It was Brianna Mickshaw and Amy Pineda that recorded the goals.
 
Mickshaw struck early on her own in the first half as ETBU went up, 1-0, in the 12th minute. Four of ETBU's shots on goal came in the first half from Kappler, Katelyn Smith, Ramos, and Mickshaw.
 
The second half mirrored the first half as ETBU once again had four shots on goal. Kayla Nichols, Pineda, Ramos, and Kappler all had the shots on goal. Pineda gave ETBU the insurance goal in the 61st minute as Olivia Gallegos and Mickshaw recorded the assists. Montondon had two saves in the 74th and 90th minute to secure the shutout.
 
ETBU has one more regular season left on Friday, October 29, against rival LeTourneau University at 5:00 p.m. in Longview, Texas.
