#TIGERSWIN | @ETBU_WS Pulls Out Another Thrilling Victory Moving to 5-0

MARSHALL, Texas - With a clutch goal and incredible defense, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team emerged with a 2-1 win over Belhaven University in a battle of undefeated teams. The Tigers are now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the American Southwest Conference.
 
Putting up 16 shots, including 11 on goal, ETBU was be led by five shots from Amy Pineda, including a goal. Raegan Kappler recorded four shots while Brianna Mickshaw's third shot of the game proved to be the game-winner. Claire Montondon was in goal and picked up four saves.
 
BU had the first shot attempt of the game in the fourth minute, which missed the net. Two minutes later, Montondon prevented BU's first goal with a save. ETBU recorded their first shot of the game in the seventh minute, which was also saved. The rest of the half would see both sides shooting a combined seven shots as Montondon recorded three saves while BU's goalkeeper made four. The first half ended in a 0-0 tie.
 
Just five minutes into the second half, Pineda broke the scoreless tie off a free kick to put ETBU up, 1-0. This would set in motion five more offensive chances for ETBU, which would all be denied by BU's keeper. After stopping a penalty kick, the Blazers would equalize in the 68th minute. It would be another 13 minutes before Mickshaw netted the game-winning goal to make it, 2-1. Despite a few chances to tie the game, BU came up empty as the Tigers came away with their fifth straight victory. 
 
ETBU will hit the road next Friday heading to Arkansas to face the University of the Ozarks at 12:00 PM.
