#TIGERSSWEEP | @ETBU_Softball Scored 15 Runs in DH Sweep of LC

PINEVILLE, La. - Scoring 15 runs on the day, the #4 East Texas Baptist University softball team notched two wins against Louisiana College in their American Southwest Conference doubleheader on Saturday. ETBU is now 18-3 overall and 14-3 in the ASC.

Benefitting off a great start, the Tigers would clobber LC, 11-1, in the first game. ETBU only had seven hits with Tristen Maddox picking up two hits and an RBI. Hannah Garcia would record two RBI off one hit. Preslye Cox earned the win allowing one run on eight hits while striking out six batters.

LC would grab a 2-1 in the second game before ETBU rallied back to win, 4-2. Mariah Delgado led ETBU with two hits. Garcia, Maddox, Sarah Cedillo, and Marin Musicant would each record a RBI. Ashley Croft would hold her own for all seven innings allowing two runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

Game 1: ETBU 11, LC 1
The Tigers brought in six runs in the first inning starting off with a two-RBI single by Garcia. After a RBI single by Maddox, ETBU was helped by a pair of LC errors that led to three more runs for a 6-0 lead. Cox would hold LC scoreless for four innings despite allowing the Wildcats to reach scoring position in a two innings.

That all changed in the fifth when LC had a leadoff homer to come wit in five runs, 6-1. ETBU would get a run back on an LC error that scored Sarah Bledsoe, who walked and stole second base. ETBU then added four runs in the seventh with three bases loaded walks and a hit by pitch.

Game 2: ETBU 4, LC 2
One run came home for ETBU after Delgado scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Garcia in the first inning. Croft would keep LC scoreless through two innings but in the third the Wildcats tied the score on a RBI single and then later grabbed the lead in the fifth on an ETBU error, 2-1.

Not to be deterred, ETBU would take the lead back with two runs in the top of the sixth as Musicant and Maddox would come through with RBI hits to make it 3-2. Cedillo then added a run in the seventh with a sacrifice bunt to score Nikki Gil. The Wildcats would put their first two runners on in the seventh threatening to tie the game. One out later and with runners at the corners, a line drive caught by Cedillo and a strikeout ended LC's last chance to win.

ETBU will look to sweep the series on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
