MARSHALL, Texas - Recording a win in each match, the East Texas Baptist University men's tennis team shutout Belhaven University, 9-0, on their home court. ETBU evens their overall record at 5-5 while they are now 2-1 in the American Southwest Conference East Division.

John Herr and Joseph Salinas (No. 1; 8-0) and Adam Morris and Christian Dubec (No. 3; 8-1) had overpowering doubles wins while Dalton Barron and Noah Smistad edged out an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles. Five of the six singles matches were won in straight sets as Herr (No. 2; 6-0, 6-0) and Barron (No. 6; 6-0, 6-0) blanked their opponents. Salinas would battle to a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles while both Smistad (No. 4; 7(10)-6(5), 6-3) and Randal Lemmon (No. 5; 6-7, 6-1, 10-3) each had winning tiebreakers in their matches. Morris held on to a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.

ETBU is back home next Thursday when they will have their senior day against LeTourneau University at 3:00 PM.
