MARSHALL, Texas - Trailing by three goals with under 25 minutes to play, the East Texas Baptist University women's soccer team almost pulled off a miraculous comeback attempt losing 3-2 to Concordia University (TX). The Tigers' three-match unbeaten streak ends and now, they sit at 5-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the American Southwest Conference.

Amy Pineda, who led the Tigers with five shots, netted both of ETBU's goals in the game, with one being a penalty kick. Olivia Gallegos recorded the assist in the game. Claire Montondon made three saves while allowing three goals.

The match was scoreless in the first half although both teams combined for 13 shots. But in a stretch of nine minutes in the second half, the Tornadoes would strike for three goals putting ETBU into a 3-0 hole. ETBU had three chances to get on the board before they drew a penalty kick and Pineda converted in the 76th minute. The Tigers had a chance to make it two penalty kicks in the half after another CTX foul, but were denied by the keeper. Pineda then made scored her second with two minutes to go. One last chance to equalize failed to capitalize and the Tornadoes escaped with the win.
