LONGVIEW, Texas – Dominating the final meeting of the regular season against LeTourneau University, East Texas Baptist University swept the Yellowjackets, 25-13, 25-23, 25-19, in American Southwest Conference volleyball play. The win over LeTourneau is the first since September 2019 and breaks the eight-game streak that the Yellowjackets had on ETBU. The Tigers are now 14-4 overall and 6-4 in the ASC.

Graycee Mosley led the team with a double-double of 17 kills and 16 digs.
Avery Reid recorded 14 kills and four blocks, Lexi Moody totaled 37 assists,
Hannah Perry added five blocks, and
Lillie Hill finished with 21 digs. ETBU recorded 47 kills in the match hitting close to .300 while the defense held LeTourneau to just .107 hitting percentage.
ETBU came into the first set on a run to lead, 11-2, consisting of kills by Madi Chandler, Reid, and Mosley. ETBU kept the lead, 17-5, with a kill by Mosley from Moody. The set ended with a kill by
Hannah Perry, followed by a set attack by Moody for the 25-13 set win.
LETU kept the score close in the second set with 10 ties overall. A kill by Reid tied the set at five.
Taylor Poore had an ace to then tie the score at 10 before LETU took a short lead, 13-11. The Tigers were quick to tie the score at 16 with a kill by Reid. Mosley gave the Tigers the lead on one of her 17 kills to make it, 19-18. The score was then tied at 22 before ETBU scored three out of the final four points ending on a kill by Mosley, 25-23.
ETBU fell early in set three, 3-0, to LETU before a kill by Mosley tied the score at five. ETBU took the lead, 10-7, on a kill by Perry with a 5-2 run. LETU closed the gap, tying it at 14, before ETBU created a 7-0 run for the seven-point lead, 21-14. Reid ended the match with back-to-back kills from Moody for the victory, 25-19.
ETBU will play again this Friday, October 14th, at 6:00 pm in Belton, Texas, against Mary Hardin-Baylor and on Saturday, October 15, at 1:00 pm in Austin versus Concordia Texas.
