#TIGERSSWEEP | BB | ETBU Shuts Out Centenary & Willamette Scoring 23 Runs

SHREVEPORT, La. – On day two of the Gents' Classic, East Texas Baptist University swept through two games with shutouts moving to 2-1 on the year. ETBU started the morning with a 15-0 win over Centenary College and followed with an 8-0 victory over Willamette University.
 
Sayers Collins (game one) and Jacob Sherman (game two) earned the win while Trent Clark was given the save in game two.
Game 1
ETBU 15, Centenary 0
Scoring in seven of the nine innings, ETBU's offense picked up where they left off from Saturday. Brett Wagner went 3-of-4 (2 RBI) and Ben Lea (2 RBI) was 3-of-5 as both led the team in hits. Zachary McAdams, Jake Miller, Will Kelley (2 RBI), Christopher Robinson (4 RBI), Carson Wilson all had two hits. Adding a RBI were Brock Calvillo, Wilson, Blake Mullen, Austin Barry, and Nicolas Chavez. Collins went seven innings with eight strikeouts, three hits, and no earned runs or walks for the win while Jagger Neely finished the final two innings allowing no runs.

WILL KELLEY HOME RUN  
Wilson opened up the scoring with a walk for a 1-0 lead in the first. Lea then doubled up the middle for the 3-0 lead. Robinson hit ETBU's first home run of the year in the third inning with a two –run shot over the right field fence as ETBU went up 5-0. In the four inning, Kelley made it 7-0 with his first homer of the year to right field as Miller scored with him. McAdams scored in the sixth on a Wagner single in the sixth inning and then Barry doubled in Muller in the seventh for the 9-0 lead.
 
Robinson added two more RBI for four in the game with single in the eight making it 11-0. Chavez had a sacrifice fly for the 12-0 lead and then Robinson scored on a wild pitch for the 13-0 lead. In the ninth, Calvillo singled McAdams home and a fielder's choice on Mullens' at-bat brought in Jones for the 15-0 win.
Game 2
ETBU 8, Willamette 0
Sherman and Clark combined to allow just four hits and no runs scored in the shutout win as ETBU moved to 2-1. Sherman went six innings allowing four hits with four strikeouts. Clark followed with three innings of work giving up one hit with four strikeouts.
 
Jase Jones was 2-of-5 with three RBI to lead the team. Jake Miller (1 RBI) and Will Kelley each had two hits. Robinson and Mullen also had one RBI.

JACOB SHERMAN STRIKEOUT  
Robinson earned his RBI in the first inning with a single for the 1-0 lead. Mullen then singled in Wagner in the third making it 2-0. Jones followed smashing a three-run homer as the lead improved to 5-0. Miller scored in the fourth on a double play (6-0) and then Kelley stole home for the seventh run of the game. Miller tripled in the fifth inning as Jones scored for the final of 8-0.
 
ETBU will face Centenary on Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the final game of the Gents' Classic.
