SEGUIN, Texas – Finishing up the three-game series with a double header against Texas Lutheran University, East Texas Baptist University couldn't come up with the runs as they lost both games. ETBU is now 14-6 on the year. ETBU fell in game one, 14-3, and 17-6 in game two.
Game 1
Sayers Collins took the loss going 4.1 innings with seven strikeouts giving up six earned runs on six hits.
Christopher Robinson led the team going 2-of-3 while
Zachary McAdams,
Carson Wilson, and
Blake Mullen recorded a RBI.
TLU scored two in the bottom of the second but ETBU cut the lead to one in the top of the third on a McAdams single. ETBU once again pulled within one, 3-2, in the fifth inning on a Mullen groundout. TLU then scored seven runs in the bottom of the inning to take over the game.
Game 2
Cole Godkin received the loss as he pitched four innings with three strikeouts giving up seven earned runs on nine hits.
Will Kelley was 2-of-3 with two RBI while
Austin Barry recorded two hits. Robinson, Barry, and
Jase Jones all had a RBI.
ETBU scored three to start the game but then gave up three runs in the bottom of the inning as TLU tied the game. TLU then scored five in the third to break open the game to take lead and momentum.
ETBU will travel to Abilene, Texas, next weekend to face McMurry University in ASC play.
