#TIGERSWIN | #4 ETBU Earns Two Wins in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Facing two teams at one field due to inclement weather on Friday, #4 East Texas Baptist University swept both games over Case Western Reserve University and Southwestern University. ETBU is now 15-5 on the year.
 

ETBU 2, CWRU 1
A throwing error in the bottom of eighth inning by CWRU led to Courtney White scoring to give ETBU the walk-off win, 2-1. White, Delanie Loya, Amber Thibodeau, and Allison Carrion all had a hit. Corley Carpenter and Loya recorded the RBI. Kathryn Reed earned the win going all eight innings with five strikeouts and one earned run on three hits.
 

ETBU 6, Southwestern 1
Three runs in the top of the seventh inning sealed the win for ETBU, 6-1. Ashley Croft gained the win going five innings with two strikeouts as three earned runs came in. Hannah Kelley earned the save in two innings with four strikeouts and no hits. Tauryn Cummings was 3-of-4 with a RBI to lead the team. Tristen Maddox and White added two hits. Carpenter had two RBI along with Marin Musicant. Cummings and Maleia Taylor had one RBI.
 
ETBU took a 3-0 lead through six innings. Carpenter singled in two runs in the third inning. Taylor was then hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to gain a RBI and a 3-0 lead. SU scored a run in the sixth to cut the lead to two, 3-1, but ETBU came roaring back in the seventh. Cummings doubled in White followed by a Musican single scoring two runs.
 
ETBU will host McMurry University in an ASC Series next weekend at Taylor Field.
