MARSHALL, Texas – In the final game of the American Southwest Conference series, #6 East Texas Baptist University fell to Sul Ross State University, 5-2. ETBU is now 20-6 and 14-4 in the ASC.
 
Kathryn Reed received the loss going 1.2 innings giving up four earned runs with two strikeouts. Toni Tamborello finished the final 4.1 innings allowing no earned runs with three strikeouts. Lorena Ramirez and Amber Thibodeaux both had two hits in the game. Delanie Loya and Tristen Maddox recorded a RBI.
 
SRSU scored four runs in the second inning to take control of the game. ETBU cut the lead in half with two runs in the third inning. Maddox doubled in Thibodeaux for the first run and then Loya had a ground out as Maddox came in. SRSU made it 5-2 in the sixth to finish out the scoring.
 
ETBU will host the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday in a double header and NFCA Top 25 series.
