#TIGERSWIN | SB | Explosive First Inning Drives #7 ETBU to Take Series Over UMHB

MARSHALL, Texas – Backed by a six-run first inning, #7 East Texas Baptist University took the American Southwest Conference series over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 7-2. ETBU is now 21-7 overall and 16-5 in the ASC.

Ashley Croft received the win going three innings with one strikeout allowing just one run on two hits. Toni Tamborello pitched on inning giving up on hit and one run. Kassidy Cravey earned the save going the final three innings as no runs scored on two hits.
 
ETBU produced eight hits as Amber Thibodeau led with two hits and one RBI. Delanie Loya posted a two-run home run along with Sarah Bledsoe posting a three-run home run. Mary Frances Ellis also had a RBI.
 
After an error in the bottom of the first that should have ended the inning, ETBU scored six unearned runs for the 6-0 lead. Loya brought in the first two runs with a shot to left field as Courtney White scored. Two walks later, Ellis singled to left center field as Tauryn Cummings scored for the 3-0 lead. Bledsoe followed with a blast to left field, too, with a three-run home run making it 6-0.
 
UMHB added a run in the fourth and one in the fifth to pull within four, 6-2. Thibodeau finished off the scoring for ETBU with a double to left center field as Kamyree Keilberg came as the final run, 7-2.
 
ETBU will be off next weekend and will be at home on Thursday, April 14, when they host Concordia University Texas.
