#TIGERSWIN | ETBU Ends Regular Season with 29 Wins

IRVING, Texas – Finishing the regular season on a Tuesday night, East Texas Baptist University came from behind to hold off the University of Dallas, 8-6, to finish with their 29th win of the year. ETBU has now had 20+ wins in seven straight sevens outside the CoVID-19 season.
 
Using six pitchers in the game, Austin Schaper received the win pitching the sixth through eighth innings with three strikeouts. Jagger Neely pitched the ninth inning for his first save of the year. Rece Gustafason (1 IP), Mackenson Bobo (2 IP), Casen Holden (0.2 IP), and Jacob Sherman (1.1 IP) all saw action as the pitching staff recorded eight strikeouts.
 
Austin Barry went 4-of-4 with two RBI and one home run to lead the team. Christopher Robinson recorded three hits while Jase Jones and Zachary McAdams had two hits. McAdams added two RBI while Jones and Brett Wagner added a RBI each.
 
ETBU jumped out to a 4-0 lead through four innings. Wagner brought in the first run on a sac fly in the second inning as Jones came in. Barry started the scoring in the fourth inning with a home run followed by a McAdams double making it 3-0. He then came home on a wild pitch for the 4-0 lead. UD scored six runs over the two innings taking a 6-4 lead after the fifth inning. McAdams pulled ETBU within one in the sixth inning, 6-5, with a single to left field as Wagner scored. Jones then tied the game in the seventh at six on a double to left center field as Robinson came in. In the ninth inning, Robinson became the go ahead run on an error by the catch to take the lead, 7-6. Barry then singled in Jones for the two-run lead, 8-6, leading to the win.
 
ETBU will be off this weekend and will host the ASC Blue Bracket Tournament next weekend at Woods Field.
