#TIGERSWIN | ETBU Finishes Central Texas Trip Sweeping CTX

AUSTIN, Texas – Sweeping through their second meeting with Concordia University Texas, 3-0, East Texas Baptist hit .264 in a 3-0 (25-15, 25-11,25-17) American Southwest Conference win. ETBU is now 16-3 and 9-1 in the ASC.
 
ETBU had 39 kills in the match hitting .264 with their best hitting percentage in the second set at .500. Avery Reid and Graycee Mosley both had nine kills as Lillie Hill earned 15 digs. Mosley also had nine digs. Grace Williamson provided four kills and Sydney Temple came away with 13 assists while Lexi Moody had 12 assists.
 
CTX took a 5-3 lead in set one before a kill by Anita Hancock and Mosley tied it at five. After CTX took a one-point lead, 6-5, ETBU scored four straight points for a 9-6 lead. CTX scored one more point to break the run but ETBU scored 10 of the next 11 points with two kills by Hannah Perry in the run for a 19-8 advantage. CTX cut the lead to eight, 23-15, but a kill by Reid and a CTX error ended set one, 25-15.
 
ETBU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in set two but CTX came within two, 7-5. It was 8-6 when ETBU went on a 10-0 run making it 18-6. Two kills by Reid and a kill by Hancock took place along with a Moody kill for four of the 10 points. CTX scored two points to make it 19-8 but kills from Moody, Reid and Avery Morris put ETBU up, 23-8. Williamson finished off CTX with a kill for the 25-11 set two win.
 
Once again, ETBU took an early lead, 7-3, scoring six points in a row after being down, 2-1. ETBU then scored seven of the next nine points for a 14-5 lead as Anita Hancock had a service ace and kill in the run. CTX was within six, 14-8, but ETBU won six of the next eight points for a 20-10 lead with four different players recording a kill. CTX didn't go away easily coming with in six, 23-17, but a kill from Williamson and a CTX attack error ended the match, 25-17.
 
ETBU will travel to Longview, Texas, on Tuesday for an ASC match vs. LeTourneau at 6:00 p.m.
