MARSHALL, Texas —On a brisk night at Cornish Field, East Texas Baptist University fell to the University of Texas-Dallas Comets, 2-0, in American Southwest Conference play. ETBU is now 1-7-5 on the year, 0-5-1 in the ASC.
The Tigers played aggressively throughout the match and it showed in the shot totals with 16 shots as one was on goal. UTD posted 23 shots with 12 on goal.
Brenden Gajewski led ETBU with two shots while
Bruno Palmieri had the only shot on goal.
Anthony Lozada recorded 10 saves.
It was a hard fought even first half for both teams as they played with tons of energy and heart, creating a good number of chances. After the first 45, the score remained 0-0. In the second half, the Comets began to pressure with more possessions resulting in two goals in the 61
st and 79
th minutes. The Tigers never said die, but were unable to find a leveler as the match ended at 2-0 in favor of UTD.
