RICHARDSON, Texas – In a match closer than the score entails, East Texas Baptist University lost the American Southwest Conference East Division championship regular season match to Texas Dallas, 9-0. ETBU ends the regular season at 10-9 and 3-1 in the ASC East.
 
The 9-0 win for UTD was a hard-fought win with three close doubles matches and two tight singles matches with one decided by a tie breaker. In doubles, Jake Gibson and Jacob Daniell fell at number one, 8-6. Sam Black and Bruno Ferraro Brocanelli lost at number two, 8-4. Zachary Couch and Max Karseno then fell in a close, 8-7, number three match losing the tiebreaker, 11-9.
 
Austin Slade had the closest singles match at number five. He fell in a tiebreaker, 3-6, 7-5, 0-1 (7-10). Black fell at number one, 6-2, -6-4, as the other close singles match.
 
ETBU will now be the number two seed for the East Division in the ASC Tournament April 20-22.
