WS | Unbeaten Streak Moves to Six Matches as ETBU Ties UTD

MARSHALL, Texas – After two competitive halves, East Texas Baptist University tied with University of Texas at Dallas, 0-0, in non-conference play. ETBU's unbeaten streak moves to six as they are now 3-0-3.
 
ETBU had eight shots as Mallory Duncan led the team in with two. Addison Funk led the team with two saves. ETBU was accurate having a total of five shots on goal as five different players each had a shot on goal. The defense held UTD to just two shots on goal.
 
In the first half the Tigers and Comets were evenly matched each having three shots. ETBU finished with two shots on goal while UTD had only one. The first shot of the half was made by Carly Wyatt at 11:53 it was on target but was saved by the Comets. The second shot on goal of this half was made by Elizabeth Wynne at 19:04. UTD had a shot on goal at 30:19 but was stopped by Funk. Duncan took the third shot of the half at 35:37.
 
ETBU took five shots in the second half with three being on target. UTD only had two shots with one of them being target. The first shot of this half came by Sarah Ramos at 48:38. Duncan followed at 62:57 with a shot on goal but saved by the Comets. Giselle Laredo took a shot at 65:27 that went high. About 20 minutes later, Olivia Gallegos put a shot on goal at 85:34. The last shot of this game for ETBU was taken by Katherine Vela at 87:09 as it was saved but UTD. Funk made a game saving save in the final minute save at 89:42 to secure the 0-0 tie.
 
ETBU will travel to Belton, Texas, for their first ASC game against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on September 28 at 5:00 PM.
