BELTON, Texas – In their first American Southwest Conference match of the year, East Texas Baptist University couldn't keep up with the offensive production from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in men's soccer. ETBU is now 1-3-4 and 0-1-0 in the ASC.
ETBU took three shots in the game as all three were on goal. UMBH had 26 shots with 16 on goal. They had 14 shots in the first period and 12 shots in the second period. ETBU had two shots in the first period and one in the second.
Garret Garvin,
Matthew Dieb, and
Lucas Arreguin all had one shot each on goal.
UMHB scored late in the second half as ETBU kept them scoreless for 37 minutes before a goal in the 39
th minute. They then made it 2-0 with a goal just 40 seconds before the half ended. ETBU's first shot on goal came in the 27
th minute by DIeb. Arreguin followed with a shot on goal in the 35
th minute. Four minutes later, UMHB scored to break the scoreless tie.
Two more goals came for UMHB in the 48
th and 84
th minute in the second half for a 4-0 lead. ETBU's only shot on goal of the period came in the 62
nd minute by Garvin.
ETBU will travel to Concordia University Texas for a 3:30 p.m. game on Saturday in ASC play.
