ROUND ROCK, Texas – Two second half goals for East Texas Baptist University earned them a 2-1 American Southwest Conference victory over Concordia University Texas. ETBU is now 4-1-3 and 1-1-0 in the ASC.
Carly Wyatt had a career game netting both goals taking three shots with all of them on goal.
Addison Funk played made seven saves and the defense of

Ashlyn Wynne,
Katherine Vela and
Elizabeth Wynne held strong in the second half when Concordia Texas unleashed their offensive attack.
Sarah Ramos led the team in assists with two and had two shots. ETBU took 11 shots in the match with just five on goal. Concordia Texas finished with 13 shots as eight were on goal taking just one shot in the first half which was the goal.
The Tigers first offensive action in the first half began with
Giselle Laredo firing a shot at 6:22. Not long after the Tigers stumbled allowing Concordia Texas to score their only goal at 8:13. ETBU fired right back at the Tornandos as Ramos took her first shot of the game at 17:06. ETBU continued their offensive dominance in this half, with Wyatt making her first shot on goal at 26:03 and not a minute later
Caroline Wilemon fired her shot at 26:40. Cheynne Vick then had a look at the goal at 42:28, ensuring ETBU had the last offensive action for the half. ETBU took five shots with just one on goal.
The second half started quickly for the Tigers with Wyatt scoring her first goal of the game assisted by Vick and Ramos at 47:53. Ramos, trying to get the lead, attempted a shot on goal at 49:10. Funk recorded her first of seven saves of the half at 49:43. Not long after Funk made two saves back to back at 50:36 & 55:00, Ducan put a shot on goal that went left at 55:06. Concordia Texas tried to break the tie with a shot at 55:30 but was once again it was saved by Funk.
The Tornados made another shot on a goal attempt at 62:36 but was denied for Funk's third save. Baxter wanted to end the tie but her attempt at 64:21 went high and over the goal. Concordia Texas made three shot attempts in row at 70:04, 71:13, 73:05 but all shots went over the top. Gallegos tried to make something happen at 74:51 but came up shy. The Tornados had another shot at 80:24 but once ETBU got back possession Wyatt broke the tie with the go-ahead goal with an assist from Ramos at 81:49. Funk made her final save at 88:16 and the Tornadoes had one final shot attempt at 89:31 but missed. Concordia Texas had a total of 12 shots in the half with seven on goal as Funk recorded seven saves.
ETBU will host McMurry University at home in Marshall, Texas, on October 5 at 5:00 p.m. in ASC play.
