RICHARDSON, Texas – A late offensive push from East Texas Baptist University came up shy of a victory to the University of Texas Dallas, 2-1. ETBU is now 6-5-1 as they played UTD for the last time in Richardson as they transition to NCAA Division II next year.
ETBU outshot UTD, 13-11, and had six shots on goal to the Comet's seven.
Dylan Garcia led the team with three shots and two on goal.

Brenden Gajewski, and
Bruno Palmieri all had two shots.
Dylan Garcia had ETBU's only goal.
Ryan Lord recorded five saves with two goals against.
It was a strong first half for UTD, as they took nine shots, scoring both goals. ETBU took just three shots, one on goal. UTD scored their goals in the third and 45th minutes for the 2-0 halftime lead.
Five minutes into the second half,
Regan Trojacek found Garcia for the goal cutting the lead to one, 2-1. That was the first of five shots on goal for ETBU in the half. ETBU took 10 shots in the second half holding UTD to just two.
ETBU had shots in the 52nd and 64th minutes that missed the goal, and Palmieri had a shot on goal in the 56th minute that was stopped. In a two-minute span from the 78th to 80th minute, ETBU had three shots, with
Royce McConnell and Gajewski putting their shots on goal.
Junior Lopez had a look at the goal in the 84th minute, but his shot went right of the goal. Palmieri had one last look in the 90th minute but just missed, as ETBU fell, 2-1.
ETBU travels to Belton, Texas, on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. game vs. Mary Hardin-Baylor.
