ETBU runs their home win streak to 22 matches.

MARSHALL, Texas – Facing LeTourneau University for the final time in the American Southwest Conference, no. 9 East Texas Baptist University swept the YellowJackets for the second time this year, 25-18, 25-23, 25-15. ETBU is now 17-1 and 5-0 in the ASC with a 16-match winning streak and has won 22 straight in Ornelas Gym. LETU is leaving the ASC after this season, moving to the SCAC.
 
ETBU hit .269 overall with 45 kills and a 0.355 kill percentage in set one. Graycee Mosley produced her 11th double-double of the year with 20 kills and 10 digs on a .442 hitting percentage and one attack error. Avery Reid finished with nine kills and six digs, collecting two service aces. McKenzie Mansell added 22 assists, while Lexi Moody had 19 assists. Callie Humphrey led with 17 digs, as Taylor Poore recorded 10 digs. The team had eight blocks, and Hannah Perry and Emily Millikan posted three each.
 
After LETU took a 1-0 lead, ETBU reeled off four straight points to go up 4-1. Reid, Grace Williamson, and Mosley had kills, while Reid added a service ace. LETU came within two, 5-3, as ETBU scored four more points with two kills by Mosley and Raylynn Pitts to make it 9-3. LETU pulled within one, 11-10, and 13-12, but ETBU added five straight points for a seven-point lead, 19-12. Sadie Kaswoski had two service aces in the run, with two kills from Mosley and one from Perry. Another five points by ETBU made it 24-13 on three LETU attack errors and a Millikan kill. LETU responded with five points, but a Mosely kill ended set one, 25-18.
 
Set two was the closest set of the three as ETBU held onto a 25-23 win. There were five ties in the first 12 points, with the last being at six. ETBU scored six of the following nine points for a three-point lead, 12-9, on a Perry kill. The set was tied at 13 and 15 before LETU took a 17-16 lead. ETBU responded on a 3-0 run with a kill from Perry and a Reid service ace, making it 19-17. LETU scored four of the next five points to retake the lead, 21-20, but an attack error tied the set at 21 for ETBU. There were ties at 22 and 23, but the set ended with a kill from Reid and a LETU attack error at 25-23.
 
LETU went up 3-1 in set three and kept their lead at 6-3. ETBU tied it at seven on a LETU attack error and took a 9-8 lead on another LETU error. LETU tied it at 10, but a 7-0 ETBU run ended any chance for the YellowJackets to catch the Tigers. Five of the seven points came on LETU errors as Reid had two kills for a 17-10 lead. A Mosley kill put the lead at eight, 22-14, and a Pitts kill made it 23-15. Two LETU errors ended the match as ETBU won, 25-15.
 
ETBU will play in an ASC match next Friday in Belton, Texas, against Mary Hardin-Baylor at 6:00 p.m.
