MARSHALL, Texas – It was a day to remember for
Avery Holland as she pitched a no-hitter for #4 East Texas Baptist University in game two as the Tigers swept Concordia University Texas, 8-0, and 12-0, in five-inning games. ETBU is now 13-1 on the year and 5-0 in the ASC.

ETBU scored in the first four innings to run-rule CTX as
Tristen Maddox went 3-of-3 with one RBI.
Courtney White and
Tauryn Cummings both had two hits and one RBI,
Haylie Stum added a RBI, while
Nadia Almanza had two RBI.
Hannah Benavides struck out five batters in the shutout win allowing just three hits.
Tristen Maddox doubled in the bottom of the first inning, then was brought home by
Courtney White to give the Tigers a lead they would not relinquish. White was brought home after a stolen base, an advancement on a fielder's choice, and an error. The bottom of the second saw more offense for the Tigers, with
Nadia Almanza walking and being brought home by a Maddox single. ETBU put up three more runs in the third inning, when White scored on a Stum single, then she and Cummings came home from a single by Almanza. The fourth inning was much the same, with Maddox scoring again, this time by a Cummings double. Cummings then reached home after an
Emma Bell single and an error to make it 8-0

The story of game two was Holland's no-hitter with six strikeouts as ETBU's offense produced 12 runs. Bell went 3-of-3 with a RBI as Maddox, White,
Mallory Pyle, and
Ava Rodriguez all had two RBI. Stum,
Madalyn Melton, and
Delanie Loya all had one RBI.
Maddox would once again score first for ETBU when she reached on an error and was brought home via a Stum single that advanced White. White then came home on a double by Bell, then Stum scored on a Loya groundout. The Tigers tacked on one more in the second, when Pyle, who had been hit by a pitch, advanced on a
Mary Frances Ellis single and scored on a White sacrifice fly. The third inning was huge for ETBU as they added five runs to make it 9-0. Rodriguez had two RBI on a pinch-hit single that brought Bell and
Izabella Morales home. Maddox then picked up two RBI of her own on a single that scored Pyle and
Ava Nieto. White then scored Ellis on a single to make it 9-0. ETBU had three more runs in the fourth inning courtesy of doubles by Melton and Pyle for the 12-0 final.
ETBU will finish off the series with Concordia Texas at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
