SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Seeing #14 Trinity University for the second time in a week, #5 East Texas Baptist University didn't have the offensive firepower as the they fell, 9-3, on the road. ETBU is now 14-5 on the year as the Tigers have played seven games vs. nationally ranked opponents.
ETBU had just eight hits in the game as
Landon Durdin and
Brett Wagner each produced two. Durdin recorded two RBI while Wagner had one.

ETBU had a chance early to open up the game in the top of the first inning with the bases loaded and two outs, but a strikeout ended the chance to put a run on the board. TU then scored four runs in the third inning, three in the fourth, and two in the fifth for a 9-0 lead.
It wasn't until the seventh inning that ETBU found home plate when Durdin doubled in
Jacob Evangelista and
Dylan Burnaman. Wagner then homered to left field in the ninth for the third run of the game.
ETBU will travel over to Belton, Texas, to face Mary Hardin-Baylor this weekend in a three-game ASC series.
