MARSHALL, Texas – Playing for the American Southwest Conference East Division Championship, East Texas Baptist University fell short of the upset over the University of Texas Dallas, 7-2. ETBU ends the regular season at 13-4 and 3-1 in the ASC East making their ninth straight ASC Tournament.
 
UTD opened with a 2-1 lead in doubles play as ETBU won the no. 2 match. Jayde Childress and Bailey Smith won a tie breaker, 8-7 (7-5) for the first ETBU point. Addy Seward and Monique Ybarra fell at no. 1, 8-6.
 
Ybarra earned ETBU's second point of the match winning the no. 1 singles match, 7-5, 6-2. Seward had a close match at no. 2 falling, 6-3, 7-5. Kristyn Dunn also had a tie breaking loss, 3-6, 7-6, 3-10.
 
ETBU will now wait and see who they play in the ASC Tournament which will be hosted by UTD on April 25-27.
