MARSHALL, Texas – An offensive surge from Texas Lutheran University was too much for East Texas Baptist University to fend off as the Tigers fell, 4-1, on Friday night at Cornish Field. ETBU is now 2-2 on the year.
ETBU took eight shots with three on goal, but TLU posted 17 shots with 13 on goal, scoring four. Analissa Guiterrez had ETBU's lone goal. Guiterrez,
Sarah Ramos, and
Landry Harmel had the shots on goal for ETBU. Ramos led the team with three shots.
Mi'a Lila had two saves, giving up one goal, and
Cadence Tischler had seven saves, letting three goals go by.
TLU took a 2-0 lead with goals in the 25
th and 36
th minutes. Guiterrez cut the lead to one, 2-1, in the 50
th minute, heading in the goal off of a
Michelle Medellin corner kick. TLU then pressured more in the second half, scoring in the 65
th and 69
th minutes.
ETBU travels to Houston on Sunday to take on St. Thomas-Texas at 2:30 p.m.
