ETBU started the first half with an early lead, propelled by Levy's efforts in the paint, including a tip-in to open scoring. The team maintained a narrow lead through consistent scoring inside the paint, with contributions from Roberts and Dews. Rhodes, however, kept pace with effective shooting from beyond the arc and capitalized on fast-break opportunities. Despite East Texas Baptist's scoring runs, including a layup by Orlando Gooden III and steady contributions from the bench, Rhodes managed to shift momentum with a series of 3-pointers and layups. ETBU had a five point lead, 11-6, at 13:07 on a Dews free throw but five minutes later Rhodes had a five-point lead 22-17, on a 16-6 run. Rhodes made it a 13-point lead, 37-24, with 1:47 left before ETBU cut it to nine points at the half.

Levy opened the second half with a jumper and layup but ETBU trailed by 10, 44-34, at the 17:39 mark. Despite strong defensive efforts, including blocks by Levy and Dews, the Tigers struggled to contain Rhodes' perimeter shooting, allowing seven 3-pointers during the half. As the half progressed, ETBU managed to find some rhythm through Roberts' consistent scoring in the paint. However, Rhodes capitalized on fast-break opportunities and bench contributions, extending their lead to 21, 65-44, with 7:23 to play. Antone Stewart IV closed the half with a late surge, hitting a 3-pointer and converting two free throws, but the game ended with ETBU trailing 76–54.

ETBU travels to Conway, Ark., on Sunday to face Hendrix College at 2:00 p.m.
