MARSHALL, Texas – Taking a strong win over the University of Texas Dallas, East Texas Baptist University moved to 2-0 with a 4-2 victory over the Comets. ETBU won the doubles point and the won matches at no. 1,2, and 5.
 
Jacob Daniell and Erick Van Zyl won the no. 3 doubles match, in a tiebreaker, 7-6, with the tiebreaking win, 7-2, over Harshom Gupta/Snehin Yerragudi. Max Karseno and Sam Black also took a tiebreaker at no. 1, 7-6, with a 7-3 tiebreaking victory over Travis Rafferty/Benajmin Dubois. Jacob Synman and BT White fell at no. 2, 6-2.
 
Baptiste Berthier won the first match in singles at no. 5 over Eddy Shteyn, 6-0, 6-1, for the 2-0 lead. Synman then won a tiebreaker at no. 2, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-3), at no. 2 making it 3-0. UTD won the no. 4 match, as BT White fell, 3-6, 6-7 (4-7). Black gave ETBU their fourth point at no. 1 in a 7-6 (11-9), 6-2 win. Karseno lost at no. 3, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 0-1 (4-10) as the match ended. Van Zyl's match went unfinished at 2-6, 0-4.
 
ETBU faces Schreiner University on Saturday and Trinity University on Sunday in Central Texas.
