MARSHALL, Texas – Winning their second match in a row, East Texas Baptist University shutout Howard Payne University, 7-0, in American Southwest Conference play. ETBU is now 5-2 and 1-1 in the ASC.
BT White and
Slade Austin won 6-0 at no. 3 doubles as
Erick Van Zyl and
Jacob Daniell took the no. 2 doubles, 6-2.
Max Karseno and
Sam Black finished off the first point for ETBU with a 6-4 win at no. 1.
Jaco Synman (no. 2), Karseno (no. 3), and Austin (no. 6) all won their singles matches, 6-1, 6-1. White took the no. 5 match, 6-0, 6-1, and Baptiste Bertier won at no. 4, 6-1, 6-3. Black came away with a 6-2, 6-2, win at no. 1.
ETBU will face St. Thomas Texas on Saturday in Georgetown, Texas.
