MARSHALL, Texas – Winning their fifth match in a row, East Texas Baptist University earned their fourth straight sweep with a 7-0 win over Whitworth University. ETBU is now 8-2.
ETBU breezed through doubles play taking all three matches.
Sam Black and
Max Karseno won 6-2 at no. 1.
Jacob Daniell and
Erick Van Zyl had a 6-2 win at no. 2 and
BT White and
Slade Austin won the no. 3 match, 6-3.
In singles play, Black won the no.1 match, 6-4, 6-4 and
Jaco Snyman took no. 2, 7-6, 6-3, in a close match. White won no. 3, 6-2, 6-0, and Karseno took a tiebreaker at no. 4, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).
Baptiste Berthier came away with a 6-1, 6-4, win at no. 5 and Austin had a 6-3, 6-0 win at no. 6.
ETBU faces Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday in ASC play in Belton, Texas.
