IRVING, Texas – Coming down to tiebreakers, East Texas Baptist University split their matches on Friday in the Dallas area. ETBU fell to Hardin-Simmons University, 4-3, dropping three matches with tiebreakers. They then won two tiebreakers against Dallas for the 6-1 win. ETBU is now 4-2 and 0-1 in the American Southwest Conference.

After taking a point in doubles, sweeping all three matches, ETBU dropped three tiebreakers in singles play.
Sam Black fell at no. 2, 76 (7-4), 6-2, in the first tie breaker.
Max Karseno then lost at no. 4, 6-1, 4-6, 2-6.
Slade Austin then fell at no. 6, 3-6, 6-3, 1-6. Baptist Berthier won at no. 5, 6-3, 6-2, and
BT White took the no. 4 singles match, 6-2, 6-4, for ETBU's three points.

It was the opposite in match two as ETBU won the tiebreakers needed for the win. ETBU earned the point at doubles as Austin/White won at no. 1, 6-0.
Fredrik Friberg and Berthier won at no. 2, 6-1.
Jacob Daniell and
Drew Van Wyk took the no. 3 match, 7-5.
ETBU fell in a tiebreak at no. 1, 4-6, 6-3, 0-1 (8-10) but then won a no. 6 as
Carson Crown had a 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) win. Friberg then took the no. 2 match, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-3) for a point. Daniell then won at no. 3, 6-2, 7-5, and Van Wyk won at no. 4, 7-5, 6-3.
Kayden Lengacher earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at no. 5 to finish the match.
ETBU will play again on March 18 vs. Stevens Institute.
