WACO, Texas – Triumphing over Schreiner University in a mid-week game, No. 20/23 East Texas Baptist University took the regional match up at a neutral site, 9-1. Schreiner managed a single run in the second inning, but ETBU responded by scoring in six of the final seven innings, highlighted by a three-run ninth inning. The Tigers amassed 15 hits, including five doubles and a home run, while their pitching staff held Schreiner to six hits and struck out eight.
Luke Bumpus made an impact with a home run and a run batted in while
Ben Lea contributed with three runs and three hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Noah Bushko excelled on the mound, pitching one inning without allowing a hit or a walk.
Carson Livesay collected two hits, including a double, and one run, while also stealing a base.
Connor Massimini added three hits, including a run and an RBI.
Bushko started the game for ETBU, pitching one inning and allowing no hits or runs.
Trip Barron pitched two innings in relief, striking out three and allowing one earned run on four hits with one walk.
Matthew Krall contributed three innings, giving up one hit and recording two strikeouts. Walter Bockelman and

ETBU opened the scoring in the second inning when Lea singled and came home on a double by
Hunter Rumachik, establishing an early 1-0 lead. Schreiner responded in the bottom half, tying the game at 1-1 scoring on a wild pitch.
In the fifth inning, the Tigers capitalized on a defensive miscue, as Livesay reached on an error and allowed
Nathan Harmon to score, giving the Tigers a 2-1 advantage. The lead was extended in the sixth when Bumpus hit a solo home run, pushing the score to 3-1.
The seventh inning saw ETBU add another run with Massimini scoring off Livesay's double, increasing the lead to 4-1. The eighth inning brought further separation with Lea doubling to bring in Bumpus, followed by Massimini's RBI single, making it 6-1.
In the ninth inning, the Tigers solidified their victory by scoring three additional runs. Livesay and Costa each scored, followed by an RBI double from
Ryan Ruff, which brought in Lea, sealing a 9-1 win. ETBU finished with 15 hits and no errors, while Schreiner was held to six hits and one error.
ETBU heads to Belton, Texas for a four-game ASC series starting with a double header on Thursday.
