WS | ETBU Gives Valiant Effort vs. No. 11 Chicago

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Opening the season against No. 11 University of Chicago on the West Coast, East Texas Baptist University hung with the nationally ranked team in the first half before falling, 6-0. ETBU is now 0-1 on the year.
 
ETBU took two shots as both were on goal with one each from Ava Trevino and Grace Shirley. Cadence Tischler recorded five saves with five goals against in the loss as Madelynne Miller came in the final 21 minutes of the match.
 
The first 40 minutes was a 0-0 tie before Chicago scored two quick goals in the 42nd and 44th minutes for the 2-0 halftime lead. Chicago added four more goals in the second half in the 55th, 58th, 66th, and 85th minutes.
 
ETBU faces Linfield University on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. in California.
