MARSHALL, Texas — A late goal proved costly as East Texas Baptist University fell, 3-2, to Belhaven University in a nonconference men's soccer match on Saturday afternoon at Cornish Field. ETBU is now 2-2 on the year.
The Tigers trailed early before Abdulaqader Majid, with an assist from
Joshua Daley, evened the match in the 39th minute. Daley then gave ETBU the lead in the 55th minute, scoring off a feed from
Matthew Aguilar to make it 2-1.
Belhaven pulled even in the 69th minute and struck again in the 84th for the game-winner.
ETBU finished with eight shots, seven on goal, while goalkeeper
Ryan Lord recorded three saves.
The Tigers return to action Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. on the road against McMurry.
