A&T | ETBU Scores Over 200 Points Against #8 UMHB

BELTON, Texas – In their second acrobatics and tumbling meet in five days, East Texas Baptist University went to Central Texas to face no. 8 the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. ETBU came up shy of the upset, falling to the Crusaders, 246.685 to 201.51, and is now 1-1 on the year.
 
ETBU earned one 9.0+ in the meet with a 9.45 in the Pyramid Heat 3.
 
The meet started with ETBU scoring 23.85 in the compulsory. Their best heat came in the Pyramid with an 8.85. They then scored 21.90 points in the Acro event with three 7.0+ earning a 7.75 in the 7-Element. Before halftime, a 26.05 was earned in the Pyramid event. They started with an 8.5 in the Inversion, an 8.10 in the Synchronized, and then a 9.45 in the open. They went into halftime trailing UMHB, 93.90 to 71.80.
 
Scoring three 8.0+ in the Toss event, ETBU earned 24.40 points. They had an 8.15 in the 450 Salto, 8.00 in the Synchronized and an 8.25 in the Open. That followed with 42.20 point in the Tumbling event. A 7.95 was the top score in the Aerial Pass with a 7.80 in both the 6 Element Pass and the Open Pass. The meet ended with 63.11 points in the team event finishing with 201.51 points.
 
ETBU will next be in action on March 11 in Michigan facing Adrian College and Calvin College in Adrian.
