MARSHALL, Texas – Earning their second win of the season, East Texas Baptist University shut out Austin College, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon. ETBU is now 2-3 on the year and shut out AC in three different matches.
 
Two of the shutouts came in doubles play for the first point. Fernanda Ruiz Burkart and Isabella Macquet won at no. 2, 6-0, while Amelia Anding and Alexis Strong took a 6-0 win at no. 3. Kristyn Dunn and Jazmyne Ford-Schartner won at no. 1, 6-1.
 
In singles, Dunn blanked her opponent at no. 3, 6-0, 6-0. Neyna Gonzalez then won at no. 6, 6-1, 6-0 and Ford-Schartner took the no. 4 match, 6-2, 6-1. Anding won at no. 5, 6-2, 6-1, while Macquet won at no. 2, 6-2, 6-2. Ruiz Burkart had the hardest match at no. 1 in a 6-3, 6-2 win.
 
ETBU will host junior college Jacksonville College on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
